Construct New Airfield Lighting Vault/Repair Airfield Lighting System, Andrews Air Force Base, MD

HLW Electric was the electrical contractor for the new Air Field Lighting Vault Building. This was a 5,000 Sq. Ft. new building, control and communication wiring to the existing Airfield Control Tower, and new Duct Bank and Manhole system. Interior electrical work included all power and lighting circuits, panels, motor controls, fire alarm, emergency electrical system including 750 KVA generator system and transfer switch, communication system (fiber and copper), runway lighting controllers, control wiring, lightning protection and grounding.  Exterior electrical work included installation of power duct banks, communication duct banks, control duct banks and associated manholes for all duct bank systems. Extending base communication systems to the new building. Installing copper and fiber from runway lighting controllers to tower. Install primary power from base system to new transformer powering building. Install lightning protection system on new building. Install low voltage power wiring to switching controllers on runway. Install high voltage wiring for airfield lighting. 

GWOT Gate 3 ATFP Improvements, Indian Head, Maryland 

Install underground conduits for power and control for gate 3 ATFP; install panel and interior wiring in guard booth. Install 20KW diesel powered generator and transfer switch for emergency power. Install pole riser, electric meter and associated wiring.  Install lightning protection, light poles and fixtures for area lighting, Safety switches and all control wiring for gate control.

Provide IDS for Bay I Building 856, Indian Head, Maryland

Install new electrical duct bank and associate grounding. Install Class 1 Division 2, conduit system for exhaust fans, thermostats, humidity sensors, Unit Heaters, Disconnect switches, electrical panels, and motor starters. Install new circuit breakers in existing Class 1 Division 2 panel. Install lightning protection and grounding system, and ground grid system for new equipment.
